The Town of New Glasgow Mechanical Department is the largest Municipal Mechanical Department in Nova Scotia, excluding the Halifax Regional Municipality and the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.

• The department has four full time mechanics, including two with red seal certifications in bus and transport operations.
• Our mechanics handle over one hundred internal pieces of equipment, as well as providing mechanical services to other towns within Pictou County and to CHAD Bus Service, Pictou County Solid Waste, and various nursing homes throughout Pictou County.
• The Town of New Glasgow takes great pride in having a mechanical staff with expertise to provide vehicle specification, mechanical diagnosis, and repair of a wide variety of equipment, from emergency Police and Fire vehicles, to snow plows, graders, and a bus fleet.
• The department uses modern diagnostic equipment, as well as a well-maintained Mechanical Shop at our Public Works facility on Park Street, New Glasgow.
